Frequently asked questions
- Does the app handle the san's money?
- No. San Rounds never holds, moves, or requests money, and it is not a loan or a bank. It only keeps the record of who paid and whose turn it is to collect. Money changes hands between the people in the group, as always.
- How does a half number work?
- Two people share one number: each pays half the contribution every round, and on that number's turn the payout is split 50/50 on the same day. If one cent is left over, it goes to the first person and the app shows it.
- How are "15 y 30" dates calculated?
- Payments fall on the 15th and the 30th of each month. In February, and in any month without a 30th, the second date is the last day of the month. The summary shows the first date before you create the san.
- Is the draw fair?
- Yes. It uses the phone's secure randomness to order the turns. If the draw is repeated, the app labels it Draw #2 so the group knows. After the first payment, the order only changes by swapping turns with confirmation.
- How do late fees work?
- They are off by default. If the group agreed on a late fee, set a fixed amount or a % of the contribution, once or per day or period late, with grace days and a cap. A late fee is never charged on its own: it is only recorded when you mark it collected, and you can waive it.
- Can the other members see the san on their phones?
- Not yet. The organizer's phone is the record, and data does not sync. You can share the round summary or the draw image on WhatsApp. Each member can add their own san in Mis sanes to track their payments.
- Is there a limit on sanes or members?
- No. Every feature is free and unlimited.
- Why am I seeing ads?
- San Rounds is free. A small banner can appear on Sanes, Mis sanes, Calendar, and Settings, never on the round panel, when marking a payment, or on the draw. A full-screen ad plays only if you tap Watch an ad. Ads come from Google AdMob. If you refuse consent, ad requests stop and the app works the same.
- How can I report a bug?
- Email elberthcorniell@gmail.com with the app version, your phone model, and what you expected to happen.
Troubleshooting
- Reminders are not arriving
- Turn on reminders in Settings > Reminders and allow notifications for San Rounds in your phone's settings. Open the app now and then so it can schedule the next reminders.
- The widget does not show my next payment
- Mark which member is you (Me) in your sanes, or add a san in Mis sanes, then open the app once. The widget shows the next payment and the next collection across all your sanes.
- A backup will not restore
- The file has to be a backup exported from San Rounds. If it is not valid, the app leaves your current data in place. Receipt photos are not included in backups.
